Powell | Rugged Display Typeface

Studioworks proudly presents •• P O W E L L ••   — a rugged collection of display typefaces named for the famed geologist and explorer of the Great American West, John Wesley Powell. Sturdy strokes with subtle contrast make Powell a remarkable choice for authoritative headings and titles where a heavy sans serif would feel too contemporary.

Here’s what you’ll get with Powell:

  • EIGHT different type styles (regular, rough, outline and stamp both upright and italic)
  • Upper (A-Z) and lower case (a-z) characters
  • Numbers (0-9)
  • Standard punctuation and glyphs
  • Multilingual Support
  • OTF file format
  • Free updates and feature additions

Consider Powell for use in logos, posters, book covers and signage — or any design that requires a hint of gallant tradition. Have a design where more distress is desired? Take full advantage of Powell Rough and Powell Stamp. Need something a little lighter and more modern? Use Powell Outline. All upright character sets come paired with an italic complement for emphasis where needed.

NOTE: All featured designs use Powell. The following designs feature other typefaces and products available from StudioWorks: The type specimen images all utilize the Papertuity Texture Toerag. The Elk River Outfitters logo utilizes Bluto Heavy and the Papertuity Texture Longacre. Explore the Wonder postcard image utilizes Parkland Script and the Papertuity Texture Longacre. Grand Tetons uses Parkland Rounded and the Papertuity Texture Snipe.  The John Muir framed quote utilizes the Papertuity Texture Flyblister.
