The initial sketches evolved from a simple acronym to an abstract dancer silhouette
Interpreting Dance
It’s always a challenge to do logos for organizations that have lengthy names. Acronyms certainly help, but unless you find a creative way to utilize an acronym, people won’t make the connection. To anyone who has ever witnessed a drill team or dance performance knows that they are high energy. I did a number of sketches trying to tap into that energy. Ultimately I decided to use the abstraction of a dancer mid leap and customize the text to make it appear more seamless.
